Profile
Mr. Meyer’s practice focuses on litigation related
to the maritime shipping and energy industry, including personal injury and
wrongful death claims arising under state and federal law; oil and hazardous
materials spill incidents involving application of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990
(OPA 90), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability
Act (CERCLA) and the Texas Oil Spill Prevention and Response Act (OSPRA); vessel
arrests and attachments; vessel collisions and allisions; Limitation of
Liability actions under 46 U.S.C. § 181, et seq.; cargo casualties on behalf of
vessel owners, charterers, stevedores and cargo interests; charter party and
contractual disputes; as well as other complex commercial litigation.
Mr. Meyer
has also been responsible for conducting numerous investigations of shipboard
and other workplace accidents and incidents, including collisions and allisions,
pollution incidents, personal injuries, and cargo damage claims, as well as
overseeing and ensuring compliance with United States Coast Guard, Texas General
Land Office, Flag State, OSHA, and other regulatory agency requirements related
to same.
