Mr. Freeman’s practice focuses primarily on maritime, transportation, commercial, energy, premises, personal injury and insurance litigation. He earned a rating of AV® PreeminentTM 5 out of 5 from Martindale-Hubbell®.
He has been repeatedly recognized by H Texas Magazine as one of Houston’s Top
Lawyers in the area of personal injury. He is licensed to practice in all Texas
state courts. He is also admitted before the United States Supreme Court, the
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts, Southern
District of Texas and Eastern District of Texas.
Mr. Freeman has represented
major companies in civil lawsuits involving allegations of wrongful death and
catastrophic injuries. He has defended companies in cases brought under the
Jones Act, Longshore Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act, Carriage of Goods by Sea
Act, Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act and the Federal Clean Air Act. He has
defended a major petrochemical, oil exploration and forged products company (and
its successors) in lawsuits alleging gross negligence for which punitive damages
were sought. He has defended a large ready mix company and its stabilized
materials division in lawsuits ranging from moderate property damage to fatality
accidents and typically involving the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
He has defended a nationwide retail company in suits alleging premises
liability, false imprisonment, and excessive force. He has defended the world’s
largest owner and operator of bowling centers in a variety of civil lawsuits.
Mr. Freeman has defended a major concrete pumping company in civil cases. He has
tried cases to jury verdict. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Freeman was a
sports journalist.
